Evaluation

Nearly complete now, all that is to publish now is my evaluation on the project as a whole going from the research stage up to the final draft. As for that document, you will find it below.

Final outcome

These are the changes I will be making to the next and, more than likely, final draft based on the feedback: A longer pause will be created where needed. An attempt in fixing the audio will be done for both the clip that was too quiet and the commentary. The addition of a BBC logo for the intro. Not being an issue with those who give the draft a go, I would like to replace on my own benefit some of the stock footage with my own. Then if anything else comes up, that will be dealt with. As for the other suggestions made, I don't believe I will have enough time for that as that was to add rhetorical questions and go more into depth with some of the topics. If a possibility comes up though I will do what I can. Finished now, here is my second draft: As said, the BBC logo had been placed. With the addition of the number three written out as it felt wrong to not do so with the brief being for both the BBC and the BBC three. Not taking me long to create what was done, the idea had been s...

Feedback

Image
Having the screening over and done with now, a lot of risk has gone into this. But first, the questions. Before doing this, a document had to be prepared with questions to ask the selected few to help me acquire more necessary responses as well as them being more detailed rather than having to go with a "it was okay" comment. Not wanting to overdue the number of questions, a total of seven had been written up giving me enough to both ask and recieve. As for the screening, this was a little tricky. Running out of time, I found myself having a hard time getting enough people together with the right amount of spare time with the outcome resulting over ten minutes long. Iffy about this at first as it didn't seem very professional, in the end it is what I had to go with just to move forward. Taking the link to the video, it had been sent around to a total of six people alongside the questions helping them with the feedback which was to be sent back to me in a voice recording ...

First draft

Image
Having the video edited together now, straight to youtube the product went and here it is embeded below... Not being screened yet, I already have one improvement I know to make for when it comes to the second draft. And that is to replace some of the stock footage with my own as I know myself too much of that had been included. At least though, with having examples I have an idea of what I can film for the final outcome. Having the whole process noted down, you will find the post-production diary underneath. I feel that I must apologize for the number of pages.

Production diary

Getting through the production stage for this project, a diary had been put together. With this, I have been able to document the whole production itself talking through the filming, arrangements, issues that came up, everything. On a word document, you will find the link to that below.

Paperwork

Before filming begun, permissions were needed and granted all on paper to have as proof all who were included in the filming as well as the locations used had been permitted. First to show, are those who agreed to be included. Some for the interview part with others for the acting part of my documentary. There is one person who had been written down to be apart but with zero sign of a consent form signed by her, that is just due to not getting any shots with her so there was no need for a consent form. With this one, I had it jotted down all the equipment, plus props, I had in mind to use throughout the production. With some I didn't end up using in the end, a note on the whereabouts was also there making it clear I would have access to what was needed. For filming, of course I needed locations to shoot. As for some of those locations, consent was required before I could begin. As of those forms, all will be found in the imbedded link above. Before moving on though, I should explai...

Prop production

When it comes to the opening sequence of my documentary project, a prop is needed. And that prop, is a DVD with its case. Rather than picking out an empty case, I had decided put together my own slip which will go inside the slipcover of the said case.  Below now, is a word document going though the process I went through to get this little piece made. Not being all, I also had it in mind to put together an opening title using the editing software, DaVinci Resolve to then burn it onto an empty disc. Finding I didn't have the time and then things coming up, access has been lost to get this done causing a change in scenery for the opening sequence. With me not getting this done, I still have the first few bits I had went through documented. So here it is...
